Aloha Helen,
Ka hau’oli na’u. It would be my pleasure indeed for you to use my response. I wanted to write something much more poetic, but I was at work and didn’t have the luxury of time.
You have personified in the slide show of your Hula beneath the falls a sense I have about Hawai’i, something I’ve been trying to explain to my mainland friends and family. You can hear it in the music, you can see in the dance, you can feel it in the air; there is a kipona aloha for the ‘aina. It makes me want to come home to a place that my soul has always known.
Before I saw your Hula I thought that perhaps this sense I felt about Hawai’i no longer existed. That it only existed in my imagination. That it was something that existed only in my dreams. That is was something that had been lost in the course of time. But after viewing your pictures I believe that it does exist. How much? I don’t know, but this is the Hawai’i that my heart longs to find.
Aloha oui,
Kaniela

Your pictures of Kapoloa Falls are beautiful and are only further enhanced by the beauty of your Hula. After I watched your slide show I found my self having visions of the ancient days of Hawai’i; the days when the beauty of nature was embraced as a lover. Your pictures have captured the essence of the love affair the kama’aina have with the beauty of creation; a love that does not replace the aloha ke akua, but one that expresses gratefulness to our creator. Truly the aina has captured your heart and one can feel and even experience the aloha.

Aloha Kakou,
We have seen many beautiful Hula pictures but not one as unique and outstanding as this. I must say, you have to be the only Hula Dancer EVER, under a waterfall. I must applaud you for being so brave to be doing that at the edge of that fall, and tons of water coming down from above!!!!!
Your pictures will deinitely be one-of-a-kind! Keep on getting the exposure and the public will realize how awesome and rare these pictures are!!
