Sacred to Hawaiians, this majestic Waterfall is located on the Big Island of Hawaii. A trail along the Kohala Ditch, leads to this waterfall, which drops hundreds of feet above and below the trail. This was a favourite hike for many, before October 2006.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 off the northwest coast of the Big Island, destroyed the path leading to this spectacular site.
These pictures were taken about a week before the earthquake. I cherish them, knowing that these pictures will never be captured again.
Hopefully one day, Kapoloa Falls will cascade again, in all her glory.
I thank my husband, Jim & Pam,, professional photographers, for making this happen.
